rjcruise is using a dual quad with holleys on a 375 HP 289 built and dyno'd by Superior Automotive in Fullerton, Ca. He had it on the engine before it was rebuilt and he wanted to keep it on for nostalgia reasons. I think he is close to getting the car back on the road. Check with him on how he likes it.
I used to run that setup for a long time.
Awesome looks, probably never should have sold it...
Just for car shows alone its a very attractive setup.
Even for a mild car, the dual quads were very tame with progressive linkage.
I could get well over 20+ MPG if I kept my foot out of it.
However, its a lot easier to tune one carb for horsepower than it is to tune two.
Performance was more important looks with Kingsford so the setup was swapped for a much easier to tune and probably more powerful Vic Jr. intake.
