Is anyone here using the MPG Heads shock tower brace? Seems similiar to the TCP item at 1/2 the price. www.mpgheads.com
What is appealing is the ability to quickly disconnect an arm to remove head, etc but I wonder if it is stiff enough.
Looks nice. Would be better with a monte carlo bar as well.
I am planning on just buying custom radius rods from a hot rod shop and fab up my own brackets. Looking at speedway motors (speedwaymotors.com) you can get radius rods in any length for a pretty good price. Making steel brackets shoud be easy. You really don't need the tabs like the MPG Heads unit. You can just put the fastener through a hole in the bracket.
Of course, I'm a few months away from even caring about this on my car.
I have both, shock tower and Monte Carlo braces from MPG. I have had mine for about four or five years; they work good, are easy to remove, but make sure you lube the aluminum threads. To my knowledge Total Control came out with their braces at least two years after MPG.
