I forget which one of you gave me this idea at Round-up today, but it's a good one!

Seems the wifeypoo and kidlett are gone for 10 days. Perfect opportunity to make some major progress on the convertible right? Wrong! No way I can scoot around on a creeper, position heavy stuff, wrench on tough bolts etc. right now. Sooooo ...

Would anybody be interested in a little work party next weekend? I want to pull the entire drivetrain out and get her on the flatbed so I can drop it off at a body shop for frame straightening. We all know that ripping these things apart goes WAY faster than putting them back together. With a couple guys, this should go real quick. I'll even provide some food and beverage (might be ALL I'm good for!).

This is pretty short notice and we just got done with a big weekend, and lives are full of summer plans right now, so I'll certainly understand if this doesn't work out. But if any of you would like to do some wrenching next weekend I'd be very appreciative. Plus I figure I might as well milk this injury for all I can get out of it!

So I'm open to Saturday or Sunday, and any time. If you think you'd like to drop by, please let me know:

1. Which day would be best, Saturday or Sunday?

2. Which timeframe would be best, morning, mid-day or afternoon?

If I can get a couple volunteers to agree on a day/timeframe we'll set this up. Thanks guys, lemme know!

Hmmmm...after the weekend I just put Shannon through...your timing couldn't be worse. ::

I'm currently into her for a couple "girl's night outs". :: :p

I'm afriad I wouldn't be much more help than moral support and making sure that the beer gets taken care of. And, like Brian, I owe family time for a little while.

Hey Dan,

I got a 12 year old that is really bugging the you know what out of me. I could drop him off for the whole week, work him like a dog. what ya think :: :: Always saying I wanta help till you ask him to do something :: then no where to be seen. Always seems to come back when nothing needs to be done. ::

Smart kid I guess?

Just feed him, cheap labor.

But seriously might be itching to do something when I get back. I'll call you Fri. and see what going on.

I think I gave you the idea, but I wasn't thinking about this coming weekend. I need to spend some family time before running off and doing more mustang guy stuff. I think we are going camping this coming weekend.

I'm in the same boat as the others. Cindy and the kids want me to go up to the beach house for the weekend with them.

Hey, if my family weren't out of town next weekend I certainly wouldn't be bailing on them either to wrench with the guys after screwing around all last weekend!! Figured it was worth a shot though. Maybe later this summer huh? I appreciate you all chiming in though.

Neal, thanks for the offer of help (again!). But I think I'll put this on hold till more of a crew can be rounded up. I'd feel a bit guilty sitting my fat ass in a chair while directing you alone to do all my dirty work! Although as you've proven, you're a damn hard worker!

Man, I'm just bummed that I can't take advantage of this temporary bachelorhood to get some serious stanging done!

I can help you on Saturday, anytime of the day. I think all I'd be doing otherwise is sitting around trying to keep cool.

Dan , I can give ya a hand sat am. Are Neal & Kevin are still up for it? As far as you have it torn down now ,we would really have to milk the removal to take more than a couple hours. We can start early and beat the heat even? Let me know.

Thanks Neal, Kevin and Dave! If you're still volunteering, I'd love to take you up on this. Sounds like Saturday works best, and I'm all for 1st thing in the morning. Would 9-ish work for you guys? I'll supply the coffee and doughnuts (it's a little early for beer and pizza!). Kevin, I'll PM you directions. Neal and Dave have been here.

I think I've got all the right tools and equipment to make short order of this task. Like Dave said, I can't see it taking us more than a couple hours to strip her down to nothing.

Thanks guys, and if anyone else would like to join us, please chime in!

9:00 sounds good to me. Kevin,if you want to take hwy 9 into Snohomish we can meet up in town. I'm not so sure you want Dan giving you directions (remember that one Dan?).Then again,Dan has lived there a little longer now so he probably has a better idea of how many left turns there are on his road. Then again, he is on some GOOD medication now.................

Cool Mike, I'd love to have you helping!

Man, with a manager of NAPA and a manager of Schucks helping me out, I think I'm pretty well covered with any parts I may need!

What kind of parts were you figuring you'd need to pull a drivetrain? :: ::
