I forget which one of you gave me this idea at Round-up today, but it's a good one!

Seems the wifeypoo and kidlett are gone for 10 days. Perfect opportunity to make some major progress on the convertible right? Wrong! No way I can scoot around on a creeper, position heavy stuff, wrench on tough bolts etc. right now. Sooooo ...

Would anybody be interested in a little work party next weekend? I want to pull the entire drivetrain out and get her on the flatbed so I can drop it off at a body shop for frame straightening. We all know that ripping these things apart goes WAY faster than putting them back together. With a couple guys, this should go real quick. I'll even provide some food and beverage (might be ALL I'm good for!).

This is pretty short notice and we just got done with a big weekend, and lives are full of summer plans right now, so I'll certainly understand if this doesn't work out. But if any of you would like to do some wrenching next weekend I'd be very appreciative. Plus I figure I might as well milk this injury for all I can get out of it!

So I'm open to Saturday or Sunday, and any time. If you think you'd like to drop by, please let me know:

1. Which day would be best, Saturday or Sunday?

2. Which timeframe would be best, morning, mid-day or afternoon?

If I can get a couple volunteers to agree on a day/timeframe we'll set this up. Thanks guys, lemme know!

Hey, if my family weren't out of town next weekend I certainly wouldn't be bailing on them either to wrench with the guys after screwing around all last weekend!! Figured it was worth a shot though. Maybe later this summer huh? I appreciate you all chiming in though.

Neal, thanks for the offer of help (again!). But I think I'll put this on hold till more of a crew can be rounded up. I'd feel a bit guilty sitting my fat ass in a chair while directing you alone to do all my dirty work! Although as you've proven, you're a damn hard worker!

Man, I'm just bummed that I can't take advantage of this temporary bachelorhood to get some serious stanging done!

Thanks Neal, Kevin and Dave! If you're still volunteering, I'd love to take you up on this. Sounds like Saturday works best, and I'm all for 1st thing in the morning. Would 9-ish work for you guys? I'll supply the coffee and doughnuts (it's a little early for beer and pizza!). Kevin, I'll PM you directions. Neal and Dave have been here.

I think I've got all the right tools and equipment to make short order of this task. Like Dave said, I can't see it taking us more than a couple hours to strip her down to nothing.

Thanks guys, and if anyone else would like to join us, please chime in!

Cool Mike, I'd love to have you helping!

Man, with a manager of NAPA and a manager of Schucks helping me out, I think I'm pretty well covered with any parts I may need!
