my cousin diped his 68 mustang and had etching primer put on it. He said the kind he got seals out all the moister. He has put filler primer and puddy here and there to fix minner imperfections in the metal. So far it looks really good. I think he got his stuff from Auto Parts aka O'Reiley.

The self-etching epoxy primer is very good - especially if you don't plan to paint the car right away and are concerned about moisture creeping under a building primer.

I like their products, but they can be expensive. IMO the best products they sell are the Metal2Metal filler and Corroless/Rust Encapsulator paints.
