Hello everyone,,
For the life of me can not figure out why the fenders and doors are not lining up. Doors have Zero Gap at Rears, no matter what i do with the hinges, and front fenders are overlapping doors at the cowl/window pillar and away from the doors by an inch or two at the lower door/outer rocker/front fender point.. Any ideas.. Both sides exactly the https://trackeasy.fun/usps/ https://showbox.tools/ same situation. Seems like the front fenders are not moving forward near enough, about ready to part out the convertible and find a 67/68 fastback... Anyone in SA want some beer next weekend????

I think the process is, align the hood to the cowl, then fenders to the hood then fit doors but I'm sure someone will pipe in with the right algorithm. I think I would start by fitting the door on without the fender and figure out why the hinges don't move enough to clear the rear gap. Then do the fitting algorithm. Sounds like your inner fenders are off which would put your fenders off...

One last thought, how is the car supported, and what state is the chassis, is it rusty or taken apart for any reason - is there any chance the door gap is compromised? Perhaps get someone with a similar car to measure the gap, you may have issues there...

Good luck

Panel alignment starts with the door to quarter and rocker panels first but remove the striker bolt first. Adjusting that comes later on. Hood and fenders can go on next.
