My apologies for the delay in announcing July's winner and getting August's thread posted; however, we have both a winner and a runner-up for July. The winner for July is OneTireFire, and your runner-up is myfirstcar66!

But wait, there's more!

myfirstcar66 had the most "likes"; however, he stated in his post that the car he was entering was his son's and the rules do state "the vehicle must be yours." A lot of attention to detail was put into his entry so in the spirit of competition we are awarding him a 6-month premium membership.

Congratulations to you both!

Here's Flipper.

Sky Plant Vehicle registration plate Grille Hood

I bought this '68 ten years ago to flip, at least that's what I told SWMBO...Hence the name.

Well, on the first oil change what appeared to be engine honey drained out of the 1978 302 and it knocked with regular oil in it. So, I rebuilt a 5.0L with Foxbody H.O. cam, GT-40P heads and Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold. It is a fun driver.

I redid the interior with black upholstery. The Arning drop & spring perch relocation are the only suspension modifications, but an export brace and Monte Carlo (STRAIGHT) were added for rigidity.

The car was painted in House of Kolors Shimmering Candy Apple Red prior to my ownership. My favorite aspect of the car is the way this color pops in the sun compared to its original Candy Apple Red. It isn't a show car, but it seems to get a lot of attention. A few years ago I drove it across the country with my mom. She was surprised at all the attention we got and a conversation was guaranteed at each pit stop. That was a fun trip with memories that will last a lifetime.

As far as mods too many to list. If you would like to know what I have done to this car please see my build thread.

As far as favorite thing/memory of this car it is the purchase of the car. I purchased this car in December of 1989. I served in the Army from 1985 to 1989. I moved back home and my brother-in-law told me about this place that had several Mustangs for sale. I had a wife and a child to support and I did not have the cash to make this purchase.

The guy wanted $1,200 for the car. Yeah, try buying one for that now LOL. I went to the bank and applied for a loan (Yep, that's how broke I was LOL). They said I did not have any credit built up and denied my loan. So, I went to my parents house and my Dad asked me how it went. I told him what happened. He then asked me if I wanted the car. I repeated the bank denied my loan. He said, that's not what I asked you. So, I told him "Yes, I want the car."

So, he said come with me. He took me to his bank and withdrew twelve 100 dollar bills and handed them to me and said "Go get your car." I ended up paying my Dad back 100 dollars a month for twelve months. So, in the end I have this car because of my Dad's willingness to help me achieve a dream of mine.

I had always wanted a 65 Mustang since I turned 16 in 1983. So, this car has a very special place because of what it means to me and how I was able to obtain it.

New member and this is my first Mustang of any variety. This 1969 Mustang Grande Coupe is the finest example I could find for $150. I Could not ignore the link at the top of the page, "Enter Your Mustang Here for All the Prizes!" So, here I am. I'll start a build thread when I get the ball rolling.

Mods:
Relocation after 30+ yrs of Rest, 1976 plates, found 1979 quarter inside, owner says it's been about that long in the same spot
Removal of Detritus, not shown due to 3 picture limit
Organic Weight Removal Regimen in the Floors ONLY, trust me on this

The best thing about this lovely Coupe is all of its POTENTIAL. You would be hard pressed to find a Mustang with LESS potential than this one! We can only go UP from here folks!
