66 289 with headers, had a rough idle problem and traced it to the heat tube fitting on the automatic choke which i did not realize was a vacuum source, what do i do , just plug it or hook it up to something? i would rather not tap the headers.
Thanks
Kenn

Mr gasket sells a choke stove witch is a piece of cruved metal that straps on to one of the header tubes. You can plug it if you live in a nice area.

Ken - I'd plug it off. I bought one of the choke tube kits that wraps (no tapping) around the headers and it just never worked correctly. I don't know if it was lacking hot air flow or what. I also live in MA and unless your driving in winter it should hopefully only run rough for a couple minutes or so. (Indy Auto Parts sells the choke kit if you want to try anyway- $20)
