I've had an offer from a guy to paint my 70 rag top with enamel paint. I have had experience with other 65/66 with base coat/clear coat ppg. Should I take offer and go with their recommendation or insist upon base/clear coat?
Thanks,
Randall

Bc/cc is lower maintenence and it almost always looks good. The clear coat blends small runs, orange peel, or any other mistakes in the base coat.

The biggest advantage to BC/CC is IF you need to "fix" an area it's much easier to do so. BC/CC can be blended in much easier than single stage. Both my Ponys have enamel BC/CC paint jobs.

bc/cc is a generation newer paint technology. enamels are now used only on farm equipment and machinery where looks are not an important factor. Notwithstanding, Dupont Centauri is a very good enamel and can result in beautiful paint work that rivals bc/cc in appearance.
