I have a rebuilt 65 289 and I'm installing a performer after market intake. There is one bolt hole that the top of the threads are stripped because the stock bolt will not tighten. I have a same size bolt that is 1/8" longer that will tighten. Should I rethread the hole and use the stock bolts or can I use the longer one. Or should I buy an after market set of bolts?
Thanks

Just use the longer bolt. Do not use a tap on an existing threaded hole. If you want to clean-up existing threaded holes use a thread chaser.
x2. I recently installed a new manifold and stripped the threads out of one of the holes as well. I ended up just running to home depot and buying longer bolts. Worked out fine.
