I need some highly detailed pics of the trunk tension rods on a 66 Coupe, although any similiar model year will probably do just fine. Both of my tension rods are resting comfortably on the trunk floor, stupid me for ever taking them out. The pics I desire need to show how the rods should look in the installed position. Images of how the rods fit into the various notches would be real nice. I haven't lost sleep over this yet, but I haven't gone to bed yet either. If you get trigger happy with the ole digital camera and shoot 20 pics, fine, much appreciated if you link them or send them additionally to my home (color printer) email address at [email protected]
TIA,
Dave

Dave, I can get some this weekend. I'll be out of town tomorrow, and at a party tomorrow night. Friday or Saturday, though, I should be able to get all the pics you want. I'll be the first to admit that I'm very forgetful, though, so you may have to send me a reminder.

Dave, I'll try to dig the 65 out of the snow tonight and shoot a few for you.

Ken and Jerry,
Absolutely perfect! This is exactly what I need! Great schematic and excellent pictures! I'll give you one guess what I'll be doing after work tomorrow.... yep, looking for the darn center clip that holds the rods to the underside of the sail panel! The car was mostly disassembled when I bought it, but I distinctively remember disconnecting/removing the tension rods, so the clip has to be in the shop somewhere. Worst case scenario, I can make one. If I wasn't in my PJ's already and if it wasn't raining, I'd take a stroll over to the garage and start the search right now.... maybe in the AM before work I can take a cursory look-see...
Thanks again for the lightning fast responses! I figured I'd be waiting til at least Sat/Sun. I am indebted to you both, if you need anything peculiar, try me, I've got boxes and boxes of parts stashed away from past cars, I might have that one part that's been eluding you.

Wait! I have a 65 and mine is completely different than the pictures and manual show. I have single rod that is attached to the arm on the drivers side and to a lever on the passenger side. The plating shop lost my torsion rod and I need to get another one, but not as your pictures show......

That sounds like my fastback. They only have one rod due to the shorter deck lid.
