Anyone know if there is a way to restore the black camera case finish to its origional...blackness? Id like to keep the origional console in my 67 but the finish is so worn down that the silver is starting to show through. Any ideas on how to make it black again?

The black camera case finish insets on consoles is made of metal. I usually remove them from the console, strip them to bare metal, mask off the chrome trim parts and repaint them satin black. It's that simple.

I've done the same thing twice over the years. One exception, I use flat black, let it dry and then buff it with a soft cotton cloth. I find that the satin or semi-gloss is to shiny as is.
