Hello
I’m restoring my Midland booster and master cylinder on my 68 Shelby. I’ve reviewed many pics of restored engine compartments and have seen two color themes…. Cast iron grey and black. Dead Nuts On sells a master cylinder that is painted gloss black w red sticker on cap and red painted nuts that secure MC to booster. They claim this is concours correct. I have never seen that gloss black on MC on any car before.

secondly, push rod in Midland is non adjustable vs Bendix push rod. Do I assume that push rod on midland will perfectly match the distance to the piston of any rebuilt MC?
Thx in advance for anyone’s expertise.

Huh! My Midland had an adjustable output rod to the master cylinder...
Intermediate manual has adjustment "tool description" for adjusting bendix or midlands...
[shrug]

Anyway, put a dab of black grease on the end of the rod, install MC and check for grease transfer.
