I would like to do the same. I like the looks of the "BOSS" stripes but I don't want to show my car as something it is not. You could try Stencils and Stripes website maybe they have a stencil you could modify. Let me know how this comes out for you.
would be putting the Trans Am Firebird on the hood of your Mustang. I'm sure that I have seen the Boss stripes on a Mustang without the "Boss 302". And I thought that it looked good. fd

Those that know it all are willing to learn something new, those that think that they know it all don't know anything.
In Hemmings Motor News ( and perhaps MM & M&Fs) are a number of places that custom make factory correct stripe kits. They can add/change/delete details like your wondering about. A friend built a BOSS 372 with factory-look stripe. Call the folks up and ask, The prices were VERY reasonable.

The 70 Grabber Sportsroof had side stripes similar to Boss 302s, either a reverse "C" stripe like the 69 or one like the 70, but it started from the top of the doors (under the sport mirrors) down, then back vs. starting from the front fenders. They had the engine size in the graphic too (either a 302 or 351) . The Twisters side stripes were not like the Boss 302, and from what I remember, Twisters were available with either the 351 or 428 CJ and the engine size was not in the stripe.
