Well I finally broke down and bought the thing. I got a Lincon Weld-Pak 100 and the optional gas conversion. Going to try and practice with it a bit tonight on my truck bumper. Then I'll practice on a few more things, then I'll tackle the 'Stang! Maybe by the end of summer I'll be able to drive it.

Let me know how you like it. I'm thinking about buying a small welder. Does it run on 110 ? We have one at work that I love to weld with. Doesn't get too hot. Anyone can weld with that thing in about 30 minutes time!

I was going to buy one of those, but have been talked into the 155 model instead... welds thicker metal, and won't heat up as much (so I'm told).

You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me!!!

Runs on 115V power and is the easiest welder I have ever used. Cost $499.99 at Home Depot (Canadian). Welds up to 1/4 inch steel.
