All is says in the manual is: Heavy Duty Ford Specification ESA-M6C25-A.

So what type? DOT 3?

I'd think DOT 3, 4, 5, any of they will be fine.

Is it alright to mix though? My brake fluid is kinda low and I'm not sure what type of fluid the previous owner used.

I just wanted to top it off, since I don't have the time to bleed the brakes at the moment.

Use DOT 4 and bleed the brakes, front and rear, until you have nice, fresh, clean, with no air, fluid coming out. That'll flush out the system and you'll be good to go.
