I've done a search and it seems this is not a new problem. I have a 68 FB with power brakes (has slight diaghram leak). My brake lights only work when pedal mashed to floor and rarely not at all. I'm thinking i need a new switch? Anybody have a diagram of how to change?
Thanks,
Mike

Definately sounds like a bad switch. They're very easy to replace, just not very comfortable to replace to us old farts.

Pull the cotter pin out of it (it's on the side of the brake pedal), and wiggle it off, unplug it, plug the new one in, wiggle it back on and put the cotter pin back on. It's that simple, all except for the working under the dash part.

When you take it off, pay attention to where the nylon bushing and spacer is, and get them back in the same place.
