Finally, my engine building is under way! I am currently in the process of building a late model roller engine for the '65, and hope everything comes out right. My friend has two cams for me, and i don't know which one to choose. He has both the B303 and the E303; which one in your honest opinion is better? I know that i will be purchasing a better cam later on down the road, but for now, what do you guys think? any opinions or advice welcome...just don't be too harsh on me! :)

For my street car, I went with the E cam. It all depend on your use for the engine and the combo that you are building.

I have the E cam in my Cobra and really like it The car runs high twelves in the qtr mile (with after market heads and a 5 lb Paxton Supercharger). The car is a fuel injected roller 5.0 and is extremely steetable.
I don't have any info on the B cam however.

Daily driver or street rod? According to the FRPP catalog, the E303 generates power through 6000 RPM and the B303 generates power above 4000 RPM.

What are you going to do with this motor? What RPM range are you looking for?
What heads are you using?
Will this be EFI or carb?
What is your gearing or transmission type?

The E is the largest 50-state emmissions legal cam I am aware of.
For the street, the stock 85-95 Mustang 5.0 cam is pretty good!
None of the alphebet cams are especially exciting.
For a good description of the E cam, look at Crane's 2040 on their web-site.
