I came up this 1973 mustang mach 1 with a 351 Cleveland code "Q". The guy is asking $8000. the car needs a lot of body works, it has some dents and chipped paint and some scrtaches. the body is solid with no rust on it, The inside is all origin, it is brown and a lot of the vinil on the dash is crack due to the sun. The seats are ripped and the carpet is in ok shape. The engine is and runs good, the owner put about 3000 in the engine and exhaust (he bought the car for 5000)
Let me konw if it is a good buy and how much i should pay for it if i can get less.

thanks

I'm a cofirmed cheapskate, but this time I believe my fellow VMF members will agree; dude selling the car is one hell of a crack fiend!!!

Personally, I wouldn't give him half of that!!

Sounds to me like 8k too much for condition you desribe. Would help if you could give a few more details and photos but from you discription he should be happy to get his 5 back but just a guess.

i think it's a bit much.... i'd say 6 grand at the most... more often than not your not going to get all the money back you but into a car,i don't think the seller understands that,..... but hey if this 73 mach is the car that you have dreamed of owning and driving.....then buy it.... you can't put a price tag on what makes you happy.....

$4,800 for a fair car..$8,000 for a good car..and $13,500 for an excellent car..you make the call

Below I have some links for cars I found for sale similar to what you are looking at; judge for yourself. I do not think it is worth $8,000 in the condition you described.
