I pulled my trans pan off and I found some I.D. numbers that I'm pretty sure will tell me what year trans I have and what it came out of. The probmlem is that I don't know where to look them up. That's why I'm asking the Mustang Gurus for some help. Here's the numbers: RF-D2AP and
7A101-AA. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Those numbers won't really tell you much other than it is a post 1972 tranny most likely by the D2. You need to find the metal tag fixed on the side cover of the tranny via one of the bolts, usually on drives side behind shift linkage, it should begin with a letter "P" and would read something like " PEA-AG3 " etc.The tag if the tranny has been rebuilt is often missing /forums/images/icons/frown.gif
