My 67 coupe has a bad C-4. I have obtained several other C-4 trannys, but can not be 100% sure they are good. Without tearing them apart, are there a few simple tricks that would indicate good or bad? I'm getting too old to change them out and "hope".... Fluid is nice and pink. Thanks!

There is no sure fire way to tell if a transmission is good or bad without putting it in the car & driving it, unless you have access to a transmission dyno.
A cherry red transmission fluid maybe misleading if you have just aquired them, as the P.O. could have put fresh fluid in there. The only way to be sure is to tear them down & check the internals.
