I plan to install a Transgo shift kit in my FE's C-6 trans today. In the assembly of the valve body, the instructions give a choice of shift firmness, "To obtain the firmest shifts and later max throttle shifts, install the Green cutback spring. For a mild upgrade don't install the Green spring." Has anyone installed this kit? If so did you install the green spring? Would you recommend installing it in a trans which will spend the majority of its life on the street? I don't want a shift so firm that it effects normal street driveabilty. :shocked2:

If the firmer shift only requires installing that spring, why not try it and see? Only costs a pan gasket and then only if youre one of those who goops RTV on the gasket like there's no tomorrow (a bad idea BTW)...
