I have a quote from a transmission shop of $395 plus parts to rebuild my C4. This shop is highly recommended by a local Mustang guru. Does that sound like its in the ballpark of a reasonable cost?

Not bad at all if the shop has a goo rep. Thought about having them install a B+M kit while your at it?

Seems like a great price. A couple of questions to ask the shop and your Mustang guru.
1) Does the shop replace ALL seals, or just the ones that leak onthe pressure test?
2) What guarantee does it come with?
3) Are you getting your trans back, or do they perform 'swapout' work?

Good luck...

From the price, I am assuming that you are bringing in the tranny. This seems reasonable for my area. If they are R&R the tranny and rebuilding it for that........get in there quick before they change their mind.

Thanks to all for the input. Looks like I need to save my pennys and go for it. The suggestions about what to ask are much appreciated!
