Steve: Thanks for your expertise. It's this type of advise that makes forums priceless. It does not appear that this option would give me enough of an increase in shift rpm to utilize my power according to my dyno results. However, it does present an improvement and I now understand the limitations of a mechanical transmission and I can weigh those limitations against the cost of a new electronic AOD transmission (with benefits from the overdrive gear) as my research continues. Can anyone recommend an AOD transmission for my 1971 Mustang? There appears that most AOD trannies are for 1964 to 1970 Mustang years.Secondary piston lightened.
