have 66 with C4. after starting, the car will go into reverese just fine, but it will not engage in any of the drive gears. Once the engine is hot, it will engage after rev'ing it a bit. If I drive it for awhile, park, and get back in, no problem. any suggestions?

Maybe a gummed up valve body or clogged screen? That's all I can think of if it works perfectly after warming up?

Greetings,

Another familiar C4 problem. The seal on the forward clutch piston is a square cut "O" ring and as it ages, it gets hard and doesn't seal so well when cold. A little bit of revving increases the pump output to the point where it can overcome the leak, and bang, in she goes. As the trans warms up, the seal softens and works as it should until the next cool down. Time to pull it out, put it on the bench, and have a go at it. Used to get quite a bit of C4, C6, and AOD work when the cold hit in the fall.

If you have any more questions, please ask.

Don
