I got my photo on photopoint, but my profile won't accept the photo type. I just cut and paste the address from browser to my profile, was this wrong? Thanks

If you don't mind, please post the URL of your pic so I can examine it...

I pulled mine down this morning because JPS is screwing up and they wouldn't load......

Try saving the file as a .jpg or .gif file. The browsers will recognize it then. Try "Save As" or "Export" from the File menu and see if those file types are available.

You've posted your access path to the picture, which requires authorization to proceed...

That's why it won't load...

There should be another external access path like ebay users employ...I'll check it out and get back to you...

Have you guys tried Tripod.com? I hear from other sites they are very user friendly in uploading and posting pics at other sites, although I haven't personally tried them....

Here's the URL: http://66coupenw.stangnet.com/IMAGE47.JPG

I can't get it to post in my profile or in my posts. Yes, I've tried the [IMG] [/image ] thing. Any ideas?

are you sure that stangnet allows you to host your image at other sites?? I know that GEOCITES just turned that function off which p.o. a lot of people. Check with the webmaster at stangnet and see. I tried your image a few ways and it should work, but it doesnt......

So I'm looking through this thread, and of course my pic doesn't show up under my name to the left. Then I hit the Back button on my browser, then the forward button, and SHAZAM! There's my picture. WHAT GIVES!

Picture Hosting

I'm working on an easy to read solution including links to Photopoint for instruction....it's no biggie once you see it in BW

So far:
I'm experimenting with free picture posting services since this thread is at the bottom since Bob changed the posting order....if I find any that are easy to use and fast I'll post a new thread on the subject...please ignore...

Ok...got it to work....this forums software won't read the URL right unless you put a ".jpg" at the end of the reference URL for your picture...

It should look like this...I've eliminated the UBB code so you can see the actual URL...

http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1570936&a=11937754&p=42910787.jpg

Links:
Photopoint intstructions

As I find more I'll come back and edit this....to easily find the info, just type "picture hosting" into the search engine...

Yeah, I noticed...

A lot of the eBayer use photopoint so I figured there was a reason......most free sites are going fee in the near future so this will be interesting to watch...

I'll check out Tripod and post a how-to if you already haven't....
