Carb problems

I got the 351c4v running today and its running pretty dam good. BUT, once in a while when I turn the ignition off I get a fountain of gas that sprays out of the top of the carb. It's a brand new Edelbrock 600 electric choke. Any ideas?

Double check ignition timing and valve lash adjustment.

Sounds like the float valve in the carburetor is sticking or is not adjusted to the proper height.

On my 289 the float level was way too high.
