I was trying to intall a radio and must have dislodged the cardboard heater vent 'box'. I am assuming this is a standard 'box'. It is falling apart and toasting my feets.
Where do I find a (better) replacement?
Gordy
Gordy,
I am guessing you have a 65-68, look in some of the venders catalogs under heating-a/c parts & they used to or still do make a fiberglass replacement for the cardboard box. PLEASE fill out your bio completely.
Hope this helps,
Mike.
That part is the heater plenum. The originals were made out of cardboard. The new ones are made of plastic and I think go for $15-20. It is a common part and should be carried by all the major Mustang parts places.
you did not state your car year or equipment but you can buy new plastic replacemant from Virginia Classic Mustang for all of $13.95 plus SH. fits all '65s & '66s plus '67s & '68 without AC. put one in my '68 and is easy job unless you are overweight. suggest you replace defroster hoses at same time - they are probably like paper. other vendors probably have same.
