Have a 10" Center Force cluch installed behind a mildly built 289.
How much free play should I set the clutch at?

General rule of thumb for any clutch: 3/4" to 1" of free play, so long as fully depressed, the clutch is disengaged. The freeplay should be measured at about 2k rpm or a bit higher. At no time during the entire rpm cycle should the free play become zero.
