General rule of thumb for any clutch: 3/4" to 1" of free play, so long as fully depressed, the clutch is disengaged. The freeplay should be measured at about 2k rpm or a bit higher. At no time during the entire rpm cycle should the free play become zero.
Okay so I may have goofed. I was putting the one piece Fel-Pro gasket on with the snap ups . I was also using RTV as extra protection and I couldn't get 2 of the snap ups off after putting my bolts in. Then they snapped off. Can I claim to be the first dumbass to do this. Go ahead I can take it...
