I have a 65 289 w/C4 Mustang. I plan on changing the fluid in the rear end. The rear end has never been rebuilt I would like to know what gear oil everyone recommends? I plan on placing the front wheels on ramps and just letting the fluid drain out the access hole. Any tips for the best change or watch outs? There are no leaks now, and it sounds fine. Any chance changing the oil will foul things up, or is it a recommended change?
Thanks in advance!

I think most importantly it depends on whether or not you rear end is a "posi" equa-loc piece, then a more specific fluid would be needed. On regular open differentials up here in the northeast I just use 80-90W gear oil.
