I just got a used Edelbrock Performer 289 alum. manifold off of eblow. It's in really good shape but could use some cleaning. Is there a finish on these manifolds or is it just alum? I was planning on glass beading it, will this be OK?

Once it is clean, do you spray it with high temp clear paint? I would like it to stay clean, or at least be easier to clean in the future.

Thanks,

I just had my Performer RPM bead blasted. It also got a coat of aluma-blast paint, or whatever it's called. I then applied a few coats of Eastwood's satin diamond clear, specially formulated for aluminum intakes and similar items, guaranteed not to yellow. We'll see, but a friend who saw the intake asked if I had gotten a new one.
