When I let my clutch out, it gets to a certain point and then wants to snap out the rest of the way. It's hard to control clutch that way. Could it be I'm missing the clutch peddle return spring under the dash (should have checked before posting this, sorry). Any help greatly appreciated.

It is working correctly as Charles said. If you adjust it, make sure the spring still pulls the pedal up w/o you having to pull it up. If it doesn't come up all the way, you'll be riding the clutch and cause yourself more problems.

I have about one inch of free play in the peddle now ( I thought that's what the book said). Should it be more? Less? I put in a diaphram type pressure plate instead of the three fingered type. Does the diaphram type get adjusted differently? Thanks, guys
