I'm not real big on Aussie cars but I thought the "Cobras" were the later XC cars.

There was a guy in 72/73 that had a car like this in a darker blue and with a 428. It had cobra badges that were original and everybody referred to it as a Cobra although I'm not sure that was correct. He traded in a 65 GT Fastback without letting anyone know he was buying a new car. Lots of his close friends were pi***d

Update: Doing a little google it looks like it may have been called a Torino Cobra and may have had a 429....

While based on a Torino, all the badging just said Cobra. Kinda similar to LeMans vs GTO.

In Mad Max they took a car and made it into the black interceptor. So maybe this is what they would've used. It already has the hole in the hood and rear spoiler. Remember, this is a "maybe" in a non-real universe. Oh, and chicks love that color !

The "cobra" was an XC model. The name cobra was a marketing exercise to get rid of surplus bodies ahead on the new model. So not a lot made, but with the hype they were a desirable model. Were typically painted white with blue stripes similar to the Mustang style.

Go to Hemmings.com and look up Ford Falcon and you will see mine and a 77 XC for $169K. XC's are the lowest valued of XA XB or XC's. Yet they want $49K more than mine. Trust me, you'd rather have mine !

These are rare cars even in Australia. Mine is one of 1636 produced in 1972 with the perfect storm of being a big plate car(1972 only) orphan car because Ford Australia went out of business oct.7,2016, RHD, extremely rare in the states. Plus I have a BMP 087510 aluminum block(new,1 of only 60 produced)aluminum heads and all forged internals to build an all aluminum 302 windsor, and a NIB ZEX nitrous kit. Oh yeah, I'd say someone's going to get their money's worth. Get on ebay australia and see if you can find one and what they are going for.
