I had seen a '66 GT-350 that had polished "Cobra" valve covers. It looked good! I have a '66 GT convertible with natural finish (dull) valve covers. I was thinking about trying to polish them. I've seen the kits for polishing aluminum offered by Eastwood. Has anyone tried this?

I have polished all kinds of aluminum stuff including intakes and wheels. The eastwood kit will work ok. Its not hard to do, but it takes time. The thing you want to make sure of is that the area you are polishing is as scratch free as possible (sanded smooth with fine sandpaper if not already smooth). If you have scratches and you polish without removing them, all you will end up with are shiny scratches. Have fun with it.
