Just wondering......

While reading the new NPD catalog, which I received yesterday, I saw that there are many parts that have concours correct part numbers stamped on it.
There are V-belts, heater hoses, alternators and spark plug wires with those correct markings. But how you guys keep those markings intact ? If your car is in a concours driven class, it gets dirty and all of the above items need to be cleaned now and then. How do you that without wiping off those markings ?

You just have to be careful and not use a cleaner that hurts the markings. The v-belt and heater hose markings hold up pretty good. I admit that I do change some of my parts out at a concours judged show. I run good plug wires and change them out with the reproduction ones when I go to any show. The radiator hoses are the worst ones to deal with. If they get dirty with oil or anything, the marking will come off. Use Simple Green, it will do the least damage.
