Bob (who???)

Tom Schmidt's post detailed most of the activities of the day, but there were some others. The food was excellent, once again, and it was hot hot hot out here in Des Moines (95*). We always seem to pick hot days. Bob and I are thinking that mid-January for next year, so that everyone in the Midwest could enjoy an Indian Summer Day amid all of the snow.

During the feed itself, TwoToots2 presented yours truly with the Rusy Geezer Award for tearing apart a perfectly good Mustang for 3-4 years just to take it apart. The trophy is a prized posession! You guys can't have it! I also received two pink flamingo stuffed animals to add to my collection. I retrieved the famed Doofus Trophy from Bob's Office, and showed the attendees that it actually exists. Laurie, Bob's second "wife" and office-manager, told me that it sat on Bob's desk for 3 weeks last year before he noticed it. I think it has found a permanent home.

A couple of personal observations: TFOB wins the most improved car, as last year it was very asthmatic. This year, it competed head on with Clone's, and was extremely impressive. I also got to drive it, and I want it! I also got to ride in Robbie's Boss 302 (a first for me!), and I was quite impressed by it's performance and streetability. Clone's new exhaust system is awesome: quiet around town if you don't get on it, but when you do: woohoo! The side exit exhausts are great! However, it is a hard tossup between his and TFOB's car for the best sounding exhaust. There's nothing sweeter sounding than a 429 with a lopey cam.

Toni (Teebone's SWMBO) wins the annual award, hands down, for the most organized of us all. She really needs to get a job herding cats.

Canted Valves also wins the award for best sunburn.

The women of CFII and VMF are just awesome. All good lookers (pant pant pant), support their HWMOM's, and had a great time as well. It must be fun to see their hubbies turn into little kids for a couple of days and let it all hang out. *Ooops...that didn't come out right....hmmm...neither did that! You know what I mean! /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif*

Sounds like you guys are having a great time, Wish my name was on the list....(Sigh)!
Too many activities going on this time of the year... How about October or April or???

Drive safe...
Again it looks as if everyone in attendance had a great time. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif Looking forward to seeing the pics of the event. I did look at a few of Zim's pics, but with good 'ol dialup here /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif I needn't explain. Correct me if I am wrong but I did notice that Teebone was in attendance and he was also at FFF @ KBF. What a lucky guy /forums/images/icons/smile.gif to be able to attend both events. fd

Yep - my SWMBO just made the mistake of looking over my shoulder at some of the pictures! /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif She's threatening to eliminate the "tire budget"!

TFOB's FBD was amazing. The interior work is beautiful, and that 429 cube beast under the hood...R-r-r-r-r-rrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif Nothing like the roar of a big block!

I somehow felt that Canted would be a great guy, and I wasn't disapoointed! Even if he IS a Jeff Gordon fan, he's a good guy! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
