Help,
I am in the process of restoring a 1966 Mustang Convertible. The interior color is red. I understand that the 1965 Red and the 1966 Red were different. I'm looking to purchase new carpeting for the car. In my research it seems that ACC makes a very good reproduction carpet set for my car. ACC is telling me the correct color for 1966 is red (256) and also maroon (257). What color would be an accurate choice for my 1966 Mustang Convertible ?

Restoring a vintage mustang to a like new factory level can be very frustrating at times with all the conflicting information. If you ask 10 people a question you get 9 different answers.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts on this question.

What's your original trim code?...that is, if you're going stock. The dash pad and package tray are supposed to be the darker of the interior colors to reduce glare, so that would be maroon on a car with red carpet and upholstery.
