I am using a couple of rattle cans to spray paint my valve covers and air cleaner (67 - 289). I bought two different colors of blue and don't know which is correct.

They are both from Dupli Color and one is #DE1606 - "Ford Dark Blue". The other is #DE1621 - "Old Ford Blue". Is one of these two choices the "Correct" color?

The parts I am going to paint seem to be some where between these two colors.

Many thanks,

I've been told by the experts on here that the correct color for my 69 is Plasti-coat 224 Ford dark blue.

Hey Paul,
A couple of months ago Mustang Monthly had an article on the correct engine colors. I don't remember the month. Maybe it's on their website. Good luck!

Old Ford Blue is probably the lighter blue that Ford used in the early 60s. Dark Ford Blue is the "Ford Corporate Blue" of the mid/late 60s.
