I am not sure what the correct finish is for a 1970 Hurst Shifter Plate ... any ideas?

Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by shifter plate? The trim around the boot over the carpet is chrome on cars without a console.

Is it the odd 5 sided kinda shaped thick plate that bolts to the side of the tranny that holds the shifter in place?
The one I have is natural but I'm sure someone out there knows what it should be.

I mean the plate that is mounted on the side of the tranny tailshaft that the shifter is then bolted to ...

Thanks!
