trying to restore ( I can't remember the correct name of part...getting too old) the hood catch and big bolt at the front of the hood. What color paint do I use...please

The hood pin has a light gold cad finish. The hood pin nut and washer are phosphate and oil. The hood safety catch and attaching bolts are all phosphate and oil.

Ivygreen has the finishes correct, painting these parts won't last very long. Soak your catch, hood pin nut and washer in oxisolve and oil them for the correct finish. Best bet for the pin is an NOS but they are getting hard to find...

If you must paint Eastwood's phosphate paint is a close match for the phosphate and oil. Their chromate paint takes three cans and steps and will probably take some practice to get close to the correct finish. An NOS pin used to cost far less than the three cans of paint, lately I couldn't say...
