I'm in the middle of finishing a pretty accurate restoration and need to know what color to use where on the rear end. One of my restoration books says to paint the differential red oxide and gives a Sherwin Williams paint number. (I will probably just use corroless from Eastwood.) Does this mean that only the pumpkin portion should be red and the axles black, or the whole thing red?

Only the pumpkin.

Glenn Morgan: 66 GT V-Burgundy Fastback 351w+toploader+9 in. TracLoc. Started out as a rusted-out Chicago-area crusher. After sacrificing a solid 66 coupe for its sheetmetal sub-assemblies, I have one solid (and expensive) work in progress!

I used Coroless for my chunk and it looks great. Won't rust too fast, and with a little road dust will look perfect. Paint only the chunk red. The housing is semi-gloss black, and the part that the driveshaft attatches to is natural (I think). Dickson
