In my 351W, I used a California-legal cam since it was pre-smog exemption - CRANE 204,216,456,484. Compression was held at 9:1.

Can anyone tell me how many HP or Ft.-Lbs. a better but still streetable cam could yield? Recommendations? Are new lifters mandatory? Thanks!

That is a pretty mild cam! I would guess you could pick up at least 30-40hp from a more aggressive cam.
