I know, I know it's not going to be a real convertible and it's better to find a real one and.....and.....BUT : I'm just interested in how they do it ! I recently read, that there was an article about a coupe to convertible conversion in Mustang Times or Mustang illustrated. If anyone has this article, I would appreciate a copy or a scan of it.

TIA

I don't have an article on it but I know the guys at my shop did it very recently to a 67 (I think). They're great folks and would probably be happy to talk to you about it. Shoot them an e-mail. Their address should be on their website at: www.haf2000.com

Good luck!

Did you know that 65-70 Mustangs have a design deficiency that may result in fuel entering the passenger compartment during a rear-end collision? Send me a private message for info and fixes.

Give Mustangs Plus a look, too. www.mustangsplus.com

They make 2 kits that are kinda cool, one makes a roadster out of a coupe, and the other is a retractable hardtop that goes in the trunk.. pretty cool, I think.

The two kits Mustangs Plus offers are pretty cool. I absolutely LOVE the Ronster roadster cover that makes it look like an old T-bird. The only think I dislike about the kits is that it leaves the body paint color all around the windshield, whereas the 'genuine' verts have chrome surrounding the pillars and top of the windshield.

Mustangs Unlimited offers a convertible conversion kit. It comes with an instructional video. One of these days I'm going to call them to see if I can borrow a copy of the video to check out the whole thing. Hell, I cut the integral intake log off an I6 head, cutting the roof off will be a piece of cake ;)

I don't have the literature anymore, but I did get some stuff from a company a few years ago to convert a coupe to a convertible. It was supposed to look factory, and the lit looked so. price $5000
