courtesy light wiring

While I have the seats out to replace carpet, I thought I'd try to get my courtesy lights and cigar lighter working again. Neither have power at the sockets using my tester. The sockets seem to be well grounded. The wiring looks okay to visual inspection. I replaced the headlight switch not too long ago, and the courtesy lights worked briefly then. I replaced the cigar lighter socket with no change. I think it may be corrosion at the fuse plate connectors, so am cleaning them up, but does anyone have suggestions if this doesn't work?
TIA,

James

Did you check the switches at the door? Maybe you have a broken spring inside or something that's keeping them from turning on. BTW, I went with larger bulbs to give myself more light inside at night. Mine had these little prongs that kept the lights from going in all of the way. I had to bend them up some. No big deal. Lighting is a problem at night in the verts.

I replaced the door switches not long ago, so I don't think that is it. The courtesy lights don't come on when I turn the light switch all the way either.
