Thanks to everyone who responded to my previous post. I am now trying to decide which was more fun, removing the cowl or re-attaching it. Anyway, Ford appears to have brazed the top outer corners of the cowl (A post area), was this for leak prevention?

Ford brazed a lot of little areas instead of where we might now mig weld. Other examples are the taillight panel, and the corners of the rear quarter panels.. I believe it was just another way of attaching two pieces of metal beside a spot weld, perhaps for sealing too?
