I'm sure that I'm a part of the minority here, that being said I think that the Coyote swap sounds great in theory but for a few reasons just isn't for me. The power levels, having EFI and a heavily modified suspension would be nice but I've never liked the sound that the new 5.0 motors make in the newer mustangs and popping open the hood to see all of that plastic and other stuff just sitting there doesn't do anything at all for me. I know that classic mustangs with SBF's have been done a million different times and it's cool to be a little bit different or unique, but I'd personally rather go with a SBF of similar power levels, maybe an Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 EFI as well as a heavily modified suspension instead. Just my thoughts of course.

To me, I look at things in a "cost vs benefit" type of way, where I'll think about how much something is going to cost me and if I think it'll be worth that amount. The 5.0 Coyote crate motor brand new is right around $10k and the T56 transmission is about $3,500 from what it shows on Google. For $13.5k, and before doing anything else at all to the car, that's already about $5k more than what I have into my drivetrain. And that's just the beginning, I have to imagine all of the other parts will add up. Things like removing the shock towers and getting different suspension, headers, motor mounts, steering and whatever else is needed will likely put that number up closer to the $20k range? Imo, I simply can't justify that amount of money when my 347 stroker motor has more power, sounds better imo and cost considerably less. Even if the costs of the two were more comparable, I'd honestly likely still pass on going the Coyote route because as mentioned above, I'm not a huge fan of the way the motor looks or sounds. I also don't really want to spend all that money changing up my car just for the motor when I don't really have to and when it likely won't be all that different from my current setup. If your shock towers are already gone, if you want a project and so forth then maybe it makes a little more sense to do but for me personally it doesn't. To each their own.
