After reading about these at this site, I realized mine was shot. Being a 1967 with a lighter weight damper, I wanted to keep it, not get a new heavier one. Then I discovered DamperDudes on a thread here. They rebuild them. I shipped it to them on Friday and had it back in my hands on Wednesday. 24 hour turn around. I am only several hundred miles away here in California. $90 + shipping, would recommend. Timing marks were indexed spot on, all looks and runs good. If in doubt, check yours out. If the rubber gets old they can cause damage. DamperDudes.net
