I run the Crower stainless steel roller rockers under the stock (stamped steel) valve covers on my 69' Boss302. (I had to modify the baffles to fit).

My question is will they fit under the stock COBRA open letter (cast alum) valvecovers on the 289 Hi-Po in my Shelby? (provided I buy the correct 1.6 ratio).

I like them because being investment cast of stainless steel they have a lower profile than aluminum versions

You're lucky. I had to completely REMOVE the stock baffles on my 70 Boss using the Harland Sharp rockers. The Cobra Windsor valve covers are definitely a bit shorter than the Boss, but I don't think you'll have a problem, however, they do sell spacers to fit between the cover and the head, which is an alternative to running an aftermarket valve cover. Someone told me that Branda has a "tall" Windsor Cobra valve cover, but I have not personally seen it....
