I had a blast this afternoon! My mechanic had been working on the carb on my friend's 1972 convertible and he needed to get it back home and his wife couldn't drive him over. I quickly volunteered and got to drive that Q-code beauty all the way across town. Just as were leaving the shop Chuck asked if I wanted to put the top down. Well, sure.......
Those 72 convertibles rock, I want one!

It really is "Tuck" "Son" or Tucson as the natives spell it. Pronunced Too Son.

Tucson is nice this time of year, but next month it starts heating up. I live in SoCal but I do a lot of work related traveling (I fly) in the southwest and I hate going to the desert in the summer.

I'll take Tucson, 110* in the summer with 5% humidity, over DC or FL with 90^/90% anytime! It's my favorite city, despite the fact that Laurie lives there! My retirement plans have definitely changed....

No.....not quite. The word "Tucson" comes from the Papago (now Tohono O'odham) words "chuk shon," which literally mean "black base" or actually refers to the base of the black mountain--now known as "A" Mountain and is made of black vesicular basalt. It was the name of the historic Papago village that was located here when the Spanish arrived. They also managed to corrupt the word into "Tucson." In actuality, the "c" should be pronounced, and the last syllable should be accented, but that pronounciation was lost a long time ago. It's now "Too-son" with the accent on the first syllable. We now return you to your regular programming. *G*

A lot of people think the same thing. Every couple of weeks our local paper lists all the places where people see the misspelling--and often it's in Tucson itself! *G*

Too late! We've already been at 90 degrees here this week, but it's dropping back down this weekend to the mid-70s. Besides that heat just makes a cold beer taste that much better. *LOL*
