Can anyone tell me if 14" Styled Steel wheels work on a 65 mustang that has a 71 8 inch Maverick/Fairlane rear end? Are the hubs different? I'm not sure but I think I have a later model rear end in my 65 fastback. The axles are not tapered and it looks like the width is 52 inches housing to housing?

I don't want to buy $750 dollars worth of wheels if they don't work (already bought the tires - dual red lines..),

Thanks for any help,
Dean

The hubs are probably ok. It's the axle width I would be worried about with the later model rear end being exactly 2 inches wider than the 65.

Yeh I'm a little concerned but the wheels are going to be either 5.5 or 6 inch width so I hope they should fit without rubbing. Right now I have aftermarket wheels with 205/R60/15 tires on it - but unsure of the width on these.
